Really tasty local Cuban restaurant in a strip mall. (Almost everything is in a strip mall in Orlando...). Feels like a family-owned restaurant. I enjoyed the Ropa Vieja with congrio (mixed rice and black beans) and sweet plaintains. It was all home-cooked and spiced great.

The decor is a little old but the food is terrific and the waiter was very attentive. It's a neighborhood place where it feels like locals go (if there are any in Orlando) for honest local Cuban food. Prices are good too; it was about $12 for the Ropa Vieja, sandwiches were about $8 and the most expensive item I recall, Churrasco (steak) was about $18.

I would give it 3.5 stars if I could, because I only have been there once, while on a conference in Orlando. Yes, it's in a strip mall, but the interior was clean and a bit festive. The staff were friendly, even if they did laugh at us as we were leaving the restaurant (I imagine they were having a chuckle at the "very funny gringo tourists"...).

I visited Havana's Cafe with my boss and two co-worker friends. My boss and I split a small pitcher of yummy Sangria. One of my co-workers had a bit of a conniption trying to figure out the menu, even though we assured him that we would trade plates if he didn't like what he ordered, but the rest of us were fine. My lady co-worker friend and I split a Tamal Cubano (I think it was pork, and VERY tasty), the Camaguey sampler plate for one (pork and beef items, as I recall), and an extra order of Maduros (sweet plantains). The plaintains, which come with the Camaguey sampler, were delicious, as were all the nice roasted meats included in the sampler.

I would definitely go back on my next Orlando conference, as this was a cheap and satisfying meal, especially when compared to the Disney fare that surrounds the conference hotels.

Yay! Our taxi driver took us here and DAMN! Great food and service. Get away from the mouse and eat some downhome comer cubano!

Held a business dinner here for about 15 people and they did a phenomenal job. For around $30/person we got appetizers, black beans and rice, plantains, three large platters full of meats (skirt steak -- which was excellent esp. with the beans, chicken, and pork) and three large bowls of seafood soup full of mussels, clams, shrimp and a lobster tail in each. Even the Cuban at our table was impressed. The food was very good, we were treated well, and had a fabulous evening.

Take the advice of a NYC foodie, and don't be dissuaded by its location in a strip mall, this place is close to both parks and totally worth it.
